Important dates and deadlines:
Dear colleagues, We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 19th International Symposium on Heavy Ion Inertial Fusion. This symposium continues the series of workshops and symposia that began in Berkeley in 1976. The most recent symposia occurred in Darmstadt, Germany (2010), Tokyo, Japan (2008), Saint-Malo, France (2006), and Princeton, New Jersey, USA (2004). The purpose of the symposium is to review the status of heavy ion fusion (HIF) research, and to stimulate further progress in understanding inertial fusion energy production and the science and technology needed for its implementation. The symposium will bring together experts in these areas:
There will be tours on Wednesday, August 15, 2012:
The Symposium will include a banquet on Thursday evening, August 16, 2012 at Chabot Space and Science Center. People from outside the US who need Visas should apply early (at least 3 months before the meeting) and request letters of invitation directly from us. Please mark your calendars. We look forward to seeing you in Berkeley! John Barnard (LLNL) and Peter Seidl (LBNL) (co-chairs, HIF12) |
